X-ray cabinet complies with the strictest international regulations. The cabinet is completely self-contained, manufactured in steel with complete lead shielding. The cabinet can be transported by fork-lift, does not require any further shielding and can be located safely in any workplace area. The cabinet is designed with a large maintenance door and a lead/glass inspection window. Loading and downloading of pallets is done through specific shielded tunnel. Safety device class 4 controlled by PIL2 module.

The system is provided of two pallets each of them can accommodate eight pipes with the dimension of three meters length and ten mm diameter. On request it could be supply additional pallets with different dimension for checking different type of pipes. This feature makes this kind of equipment very flexible.
The axis positioning during the inspection cycle is obtained by brushless servo motors with can-bus controller and power driver on board; high precision of positioning is obtained with absolute encoder on board.
Also X-ray parameters as kV and mA, processing and motorized shutter positions are automatically taught in by computer. Axis positioning during the teach-in cycle and the manual operations are possible either using joystick or trough touch screen display.
The inspection positions are obtained by the movement of the complete X-ray system. The manipulator allows taking image of welding of the pipes with different angles controlled by CNC and it is also foresee a manual adjustment tilting axis.
The XPI 110 could be equipped with different combinations of generators/tubes, different power are available from 160 kV till 450 kV. X-ray sources (tubes) with different focal spot depending on the need. It could be equipped with amorphous silicon digital flat panel detector.
An operator panel with the main functions, pushbuttons and joysticks for axes movement are located in an ergonomic console. There is also located the screens (monitors). A 19” VGA monitor for user interface, programming, image processing and diagnostic functions. The inspection programs are made by teach-in software which allows for the storage of several programs. X-ray kV and mA variation is also automatically controlled by RS 232 serial interface. The personal computer can be connected to the peripheral devices. An Ethernet port is also available for connection with a local area network (LAN).
